MISSION: BAYLESS HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATES STUDENTS WHO ARE CRITICAL THINKERS AND LIFELONG LEARNERS. OUR RIGOROUS CURRICULUM, WITH ITS EMPHASIS ON READING, WRITING, SPEAKING, AND LISTENING, PREPARES STUDENTS TO BE COLLEGE AND CAREER READY. Bayless High School has been named a 2021 Missouri State School of Character

BHS was first named a Missouri School of Character in 2015.  Schools are required to renew designation after 5 years. 

As a Missouri School of Character, BHS is recognized for having demonstrated a focus on character development which has positively impacted academic achievement, student behavior, and school climate.  This recognition is given to schools who have achieved a standard of excellence in the area of character development through their exemplary implementation of Character.org’s 11 Principles of Effective Character Education, a framework for whole-school improvement.

Our students, staff, parents and community all contribute to this award.  Bayless High School empowers students to be good, smart, and strong citizens by embracing our core values of respect and responsibility.

Bayless High School Wins 2021 National School of Character

The goal of the National Schools of Character (NSOC) awards program is to recognize all schools and districts that demonstrate an exemplary level of implementation of Character Education Partnership's 2010 Eleven Principles of Effective Character Education. The NSOC designation is renewable after five years. The awards recognize the level of excellence schools and districts have achieved in the Eleven Principles of Effective Character Education of Effective Character Education. These principles guide the process of creating a culture based on the community's shared values.

Bayless High School Wins Bronze PBIS Award

BIS is a process for creating safer and more effective schools by structuring the learning environment to support the academic and social success of all students. The process supports the adoption and long-term implementation of efficient and effective discipline throughout the school environment. PBIS methods are research-based and proven to significantly reduce the occurrence of problem behaviors in schools.  Bayless Schools are proud participants in PBIS.
