  1. National Alliance on Mental Health (NAMI): The nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness. A great site to get general information on a variety of disorders.
  2. American Psychiatric Association: The American Psychiatric Association is an organization of psychiatrists working together to ensure humane care and effective treatment for all persons with mental illness, including substance use disorders. A great site to get general information on a variety of disorders.
  3. Google Scholar: This site works just like google, but limits your search to academic resources.
  4. The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM5): The handbook used by health care professionals in the United States and much of the world as the authoritative guide to the diagnosis of mental disorders. The DSM contains descriptions, symptoms, and other criteria for diagnosing mental disorders.
